Communication with Parents
For the first 5 weeks of the year newsletters come home weekly, and for the remainder of the year, fortnightly on a Thursday. Our newsletters include dates and details of major events, student achievements and concerns. It is important that you receive and read these. They can be either be emailed to families or posted to a physical address, they will also be available on our website.
Daily Notices & Facebook
The daily notices let students know about meetings and practice times for all of the activities that happen in our school. Families can read the notices on our facebook page - Maeroa Intermediate School. This helps with organising schedules and encouraging your child to have a go!
Phone & Text Messages / Calls Home
We aim to work closely with parents to ensure that your child gains the maximum benefit from their two years at Maeroa. Teachers will phone/text parents in regards to student progress and behaviour to keep everyone in the loop.
We encourage parents to become involved in the school. We have opportunities available for families to support with sports coaching and management, fundraising through our school PTA, library assistance with processing new stock, class trips and camps, and general duties.
Many teachers also welcome parent help in the classroom, so please let teachers know if you are interested in helping out.
Change of Address or Phone Number
Please notify the school office if you change your address or phone number.
We need current phone numbers in case of an emergency.
