Prize Giving Assemblies

Towards the conclusion of each school year teachers nominate students who have contributed strongly in a variety of fields to receive awards.

The Service and Leadership Awards

Altrusa Award

One girl and one boy are chosen for their attitude, effort and contribution to the school. These are recognised through the Altrusa association and the Lions Club respectively.

ZONTA & Trevor Church Memorial Rotary Award

These prestigous awards include the selection of six boys and six girls chosen for their outstanding leadership, performances, and contributions to the school and community. Only one boy and girl are chosen to win the scholarships. These are presented at the awarding organisation's meeting for that month and recognised at school in assembly.

Prize Giving Assemblies

We have two prize giving assemblies in the final two weeks of the school year.

  • Thursday 12th December - 9am - Sporting and Cultural Assembly

    • Sports Assembly - recognising the achievements and contributions of students to the school's sporting teams.

    • Cultural Assembly - recognises students' achievements and contributions to the cultural aspects of the school. (Music, Art, Dance, culture, etc).

  • Friday 13th December - 9am - Final Prize Giving Assembly

    • Recognises excellence in achievement across many aspects of the school environment.

These showcase the achievements of students at Maeroa during their time here. Visitors are most welcome to attend all of our assemblies.
