We have a very comprehensive transition to Maeroa and we know that those students that follow this pathway are better prepared for success at the start of the year. The dates for Enrolments for 2023 are as follows.
If your child currently attends Frankton School, Aberdeen School, Nawton School, Forest Lake School and Vardon School we communicate directly with those school. If you currently attend another school call our office on 847 5014 to register your interest and we will make sure you are kept up to date with any communications.
Week 2 - Maeroa Road Show
We will be visiting our local primary schools to introduce ourselves and let students know a little bit about Maeroa.
Week 3 - Orientation Night - Wednesday 10th August - 4pm - 6.30
We have an open night for families considering Maeroa as a choice - you don’t need to have an appointment, it’s a drop in and we talk about different options. Classrooms are open for you to talk with students and teachers.
Week 4 - Enrolment Packs - Available Monday 15th August
Enrolment packs are dropped at contributing schools and are available on request for families to return before the end of term 3.
It is important that the students wanting to apply for placement in the Sports Unit, Reo Rua or the - Gifted and Talented class meet the enrolment deadlines as testing takes place early term 4.
Week 8 - Friday 16th September, 3 pm 2022 - Enrolment Packs for 2023 are due back
All enrolments for 2023 are due back to school and out of zone ballot entries close.
Wednesday 21st September - Ballot held for all Out of Zone Enrolments
Emails will be sent to all families that have applied to let them know their enrolment status. If you are not successful in the ballot you will have the option of being placed on a waiting list.
Enrolment Interviews
Week 2 - Thursday 27th October

All incoming students attend a 15 minute interview with their families. Families book a time directly with us when they return their enrolment pack. This is an opportunity to ask and answer questions and gather relevant information to help with the transition.

Week 6 School Visits
We visit and or contact current teachers to collect information about students learning and learning styles
Week 7 - Orientation Visits
2023 students come and spend the morning at our school. This gives them a chance to familiarise themselves with our place and is another important step in the transition to Maeroa.
Week 10 - Meet the Teacher - Tuesday 13th December - 4pm to 6pm
Families are invited to come to and find out who their teacher is for 2023 and where their classroom will be, pick up stationery lists and check out who is going to be in their class.
